Healing DID: Experienced Guidance for Your Journey
Do you ever worry that you are going “crazy?” Let’s be honest: with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), you are very likely having some really unusual experiences!
Particularly at the beginning of a recovery journey with DID, people commonly worry they might be going “crazy” or making this up. Please know that these worries are totally normal. I will be addressing these worries in upcoming videos.
If you think you might have Dissociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder, or other issue involving structural dissociation (such as OSDD), you’re in the right place! This channel is focused on helping people who are early in their healing journey.
If you are someone who has known about their DID for some time or who has got a lot of it figured out, welcome! I hope you will share your hard-earned knowledge with us so we can learn from you.
Why CommuniDID
I have seen that it’s very difficult for most people with DID to get help. Reasons for this include:
- a general shortage of therapists who work with DID
- even fewer therapists who work with DID and accept insurance or are affordable
- even fewer therapists who work with DID, accept insurance, and are accepting new clients
Who I Am
You might wonder who I am to think I can offer help to people with DID. I:
- am a licensed clinical professional counselor
- specialize in working with clients with DID
- am a level two Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
- am a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation
The Mission
My mission is to share knowledge, skills, and tools that can help you even if you don’t have a therapist. Here at CommuniDID, I’m not your therapist, but I can be a helpful resource. If you do have a therapist, the hope is that the between-session materials can help you make the most of each session.
What You Can Expect
I will be posting new videos every Tuesday and Thursday evening. On Saturdays I will be sharing jokes and riddles for any littles who are interested in my Riddles for Littles series.
In the coming weeks I will be addressing topics such as:
- Am I crazy or making this up?
- DID is NOT a mental illness
- Potential signs of DID
- DID is not rare
- How snorkeling and DID are similar
- How positive emotions can be triggers
